1964 Established on Dec. 18, 1964 as Pag-asa Steel Works, Inc. with the first fully automatic rolling mill in the country
1967 Rolls its first bar in January of 1967
1971 Upgrades mill with technical assistance from Kyoei Steel Works of Osaka, Japan
1972 Begins production of wire rods in addition to rebars
1974 Supplies government-sponsored hotel building projects in preparation for the WB Meeting in Manila
1975 Supplies to major infrastructure projects
1976 Pioneers production of Grade 60, high-strength bars in the Philippines
1979 Qualifies as sole producers for the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant Project
1989 Company celebrates 25th Anniversary
1994 Launches Mill #2 to meet increasing demand
1998 Launches ISO-9002 based quality management system
1999 Certified as ISO-9001 compliant
2004 Chemical and Mechanical Testing Lab receives DPWH certification in February
2006 Receives the 2006 Don Emilio Abello Energy Efficiency Award
